Beatitudes bible study: That by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men. 1 Peter 2:15

The education of man consists in the knowledge of beatitude. Aristotle defines it as the good, beautiful, sensible and happy life. And this beatitude is beyond values, beyond commandments.
The beatitudes exposed by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:3-12 and Luke 6:20-26) explain to us that there are behaviors ordered to punishments and behaviors ordered to rewards: prizes for those who choose the righteous life ("Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", Matthew 7:12) and punishments for those who choose sin: "We sin or we live righteously", Thomas Aquinas.
This is why God's will is that we imitate the Lord: "Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children", Ephesians 5:1. Jesus is the living stone, the foundation of the righteous life, the life in God's grace: "Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious", 1 Peter 2:4.
This is why the apostle Saint Peter is explicit in explaining what the will of the Lord is: "For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men— as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God. Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.", 1 Peter 2:15-17.

Peter explains to us that the righteous life is not only to always act on ethical principles but also to avoid the provocations of the fools, fools always want to lead sensible people to their ground, that is to the works of the flesh: "Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking.", 1 Peter 2:1.
About fools, the Bible warns us: "They are darkened in their understanding and separate from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts." Ephesians 4:18.
The righteous life, seeking the correct and the best, should not only be a path that leads us to salvation, which is a personal goal, but also a lamp that illuminates the path of others. We choose.
