yes...I tried that experiment too but with a slightly different twist. at my local propane dealer that I am on a first name bases with. my bill was larger than I expected so I asked if she would consider taking 1 oz. silver eagles for part of the bill. she said maybe but they're only worth 10 cents she said. I didn't pursue that line any further. asked my hardware store, another family owned local business that knows me & asked if they'd be interested in taking silver for my purchase. here I just got a dumb founded look so I pulled out my plastic card. how will this work when I need it, I wonder.
