Hello all From Dixiesilverminer

Hello everyone- glad to be here!

From what I see so far I should start with a little about me, so here it goes: I am a hard working, keep to myself kind of guy, a prepper, a stacker and a metalsmith. I count my wealth in Ounces, Calories and Rounds. I am a HVAC technician and a welder/pipefitter by trade. I have always being creative and I have finally found my medium in precious metals. I am Happily married(most of the time lol) to Dixiesilvergirl for almost 28 years, we have 3 sons, our first grand baby on the way and life is pretty good right now.

It has been over 2 years since I have had a drink and that was one of the best decisions I have ever made, however I found myself with a lot of time to fill and a need to catch up on the retirement savings now that i realized I am no longer 21 and invincible LOL.
My prepping mindset led me to silver. After many conversations(and I mean many), I convinced Dixiesilvergirl that we should purchase some silver bullion. After even more research we purchased 30 oz t of Silvertowne silver (10 x 1 oz Bars, 2 x 5 oz Bars and 1 x 10 oz Bar) From JM Bullion. When the order arrived and we held the bars, that was it- we both had the bug! We made a couple of more purchases and then about a few months into stacking we bought our first kilo bar and then found collectible coins.

We were reading and watching everything we could to learn about precious metals, YouTube became a great source and we signed up and started lurking on Reddit Silverbugs. It didn’t take long for me to begin scrapping the precious metals that had been around me for years and I had been to busy to deal with before. I found a local asayer that would process the scrap for me and soon had our first kilo bar from scrapping. Our stack was growing quickly.

After the second time I used the assayer I decided I could do it myself, so I bought chemicals and tried refining our scrap into separate metals, needless to say that is a story for another day. I ended up with 25lbs of copper(which has always been one of my favorite metals) and decided I could melt it all down to store easier, so we purchased a whip, crucible and mold from ebay and using my work torch I made my first reclaimed copper bars.

At this point it took less talking then I had prepared for to convince Dixiesilvergirl we should order some 999 silver shot and that I could melt it with my torch. That is where today’s story ends and when the latest chapter of my life began….0928172128.jpg
