LHOKSEUMAWE-Two cross-province buses of Simpati Star are involved in an accident on the Medan-Banda Aceh road, precisely in Meunasah Drang Village, Muara Batu Sub-district, North Aceh, on Friday (20/10/2017) in the morning.
Head of Lhokseumawe Police Traffic Unit, Iptu Mulyana, said the accident occurred at around 02.30 WIB.
Bus Simpati Star with police number BL 7751 AA driven by Muhammad Ali, (45) from Pidie District, collided with a bus similar to the police number BL 7704 AA that drove from the direction of Medan.
"The accident resulted in the death of two people, the kernet, a total of 13 people injured, one seriously injured and two people died," said Iptu Mulyana.
He detailed the death toll, namely Muhammad Zaini (33), citizens Langsa and Abdul Azmi (35), residents of Banda Aceh. They are each kernet on both buses. While the victim was rushed to the Arun General Hospital, Lhokseumawe.
Currently, the police are still doing crime scene and check a number of witnesses to be sure the chronology and cause of the deadly accident.
