I don't believe that humanity will ever be able to create artificial consciousness, either in hardware (robots) nor in software (Virtual Reality Programs)

You may be right, but with the boom in tech that we are experiencing and will continue to experience its hard to see how we couldnt. Like i said we could go extinct before but if we figure out cold fusion and quantum computing we will be on a fast track to being a type one civilization and at that point a simulation will be childs play.
