Have you seen it? A few hours ago, Ripple claimed the 2nd spot of top crytocurrency overtaking Ethereum by surprise. It caught me by surprise too. I couldnt believe my eyes and I refreshed the page a few times on coinmarket cap. It was really unbelievable and it lasted for a while before Ripple fall back to 3rd place.
After this incident, I really feel that crytocurrency can be easily manipulated by whales but the hype will not last and some sh*t coins that are damn cheap now are "next target" for pump and dump. I feel Ripple do have potential to be BIG because they are supported by banks, and we have all our money? The banks. 
I believe that when we are buying coins we must have certain fate and knowlegde about the future of it. Not just buying into hypes. Sooner or later you will be victim of pump and dump. Just like what happen in the dot.com era.
I like coins that have fundamentals just like steem. I enjoy earning steem posting my videos and ideas. I visit steemit more than facebook now and I believe in the not so near future more and more people are going to do so. Words spread like wild fire. Eventually steemit will have as many if not more users than facebook because it is so much better.
Everything takes time and I m so glad to be early in steemit. Hold on to your steem for now because in no time the mainstream media will start reporting steem price like what happen to bitcoin when it was skyrocketing in 2013. I'd be careful about Ripple, when the banks go down so will Ripple, it is not a next paradigm asset in my opinion. Enjoy the gains and transfer them to Btc, Eth, or Steem.
