Palembang - South Sumatera Provincial Government continues to realize ambition to host MotoGP. Jakabaring circuit is planned to be located in the city of Palembang will soon be built in order to menghelat MotoGP in 2019 season.
Dorna as the organizer of MotoGP has announced 19 circuits that will host the 2018 MotoGP. There is no Indonesian name. Dorna actually pointed to Thailand who are more prepared to host.
"We will again propose to host the 2019 MotoGP. Currently, we have a location to build a circuit with an area of 120 hectares," said Head of Housing and Settlement Office of South Sumatra, Basyarrudin, when found Bola.com in Jakabaring Sport City, Palembang , Saturday (25/11/2017).
"We already have a German consultant, Hermann Tilke, and we have a design for the circuit, too."
Basyarrudin mentioned the development plan of Jakabaring Circuit has entered the stage of detailed engineering design. Currently, he added, the local government only need to find a sponsor or investor to do the development process.
"We already have approval from Dorna as the organizer, but we can not confirm when the construction started because we have to wait for investors," he concluded.
