The Great Outdoors Vol. 2 - Skiing Near Bowman Lake State Park (NY)

Another in my series of getting out and enjoying the great outdoors. This weekend I enjoyed one of my favorite wintertime activities, cross country skiing. I try to get out every weekend when time permits and there is good conditions.

As the title implies, this week I skied the snowmobile trails just outside of Bowman State Park, in Oxford NY. I prefer skiing on trails already broken for obvious reasons, but also do my own trail blazing at times. I usually ski 2 to 3 miles. It's a great way to unwind without breaking the bank.

I have used the same set of skis since 1982. I have replaced the boots once over the years. There are places to ski that have rentals which would be a good suggestion if you wanted to give it a try before investing in your own equipment.
