Crocheting is an act of fun which offers creativity, a perfect blend of relaxation and accomplishments at last. This fun helps me as an individual to create different things for my self and my family members. I am thrilling with my keychain.

In this week challenge, I want to make a bandana for my little baby, so l choose orange colour yarn and sea green yarn because she has a fabric that goes with the two colours. Seeing this challenge, l was amazed and I decided to combine the two yarn so as to blend with her fabrics. I sincerely appreciate our teachers for teaching us thing that are beneficial to us and our families as well.

I took time with carefulness and study my teacher's video overtime such that at a point I was motivated to carry out my homework task though it was a bit challenging. This week challenge is making the lying down stitches and low stitch.

Material needed

  • Orange colour yarn
  • Sea green colour yarn
  • Knitting pin
  • Multicoloured bead
  • Scissor

Task 1; Make a chain of 30 or 50 stitches, mention the number of stitches chosen.

I started my task by creating a knot and carry out 50 chain. In the whole task, this was the most simple part because we have practice chain making in almost all the assignments. I successfully completed my 50 chains and I really appreciate that my chains look beautiful and smooth compare to what I had in the first class some months ago. I can boostfully say that learning has taken place.

Task 2; Make a sequence of a chain of 2 stitches, plus two lying double crochets and close with a slip stitch, leaving two free chain stitches between each sequence, until reaching the end of the main chain.

I continue my task 2, by adding two additional chain to the 50 chains which made it 52 chains. I passed the first two chains, I yarn over and inserted needle in the number 50 point. I draw out the hook and carried out high stitch. I made 2 point of it, leaving two hole free in between the sequence then put my needle in the third point and close it with a slip stitch.

I continued with 2 chains, two lying double crochets and close with a slip stitch. I repeated this process till I reached the sequence first end point.

Watch Task one and two in my frist video.

Task 3; Return with the same sequence as in step 1 until finished, making a botton hole with low stitches

I carry out the same process above and achieve a two sequences side. I crochet more than 6 double lying down stitches close it with a slip stitch using the opposite side and I made a button holes with low stitches at the end.

At this point, I have successfully created my two sides sequences with a bottom hole. It look very beautiful and outstanding.

Task 4; Crochet a motif to decorate the bandana. Be as creative as possible. Take a photo of the finished piece

This point was a free moment in which we are asked to create a decorate for our bandana. I choose a simple Rose, which was taught by our mentors few weeks ago. I use a sea green yarn to carry it out and I also decided to add a multicoloured bead to make the bandana more beautiful and attractive. Remember, I remain an apprentice for now but with time I will have more decorative design off hand.
