The art of slow shutter photography x 2

This is a take (2) on the fun one can have when utilizing the right equipment and technique to really jazz up ones photo finish. These images where taken at a music gala on the north end of Phuket. Shot with a Nikon D700, 12 - 24 mm wide angle, and a sb 600 flash. All setting on manual with exception of auto focus. The technique is one where I pulled up close to my subject to almost full frame, pressed the shutter button which executed the flash while simultaneously pulling back slowly with the telephoto lens. The settings were at shutter speed at 1/20 , f 18, ISO 400.
