quite early days for it, certainly looks enticing. I can't help feel a bit reluctant about those smart rewards, where is the value coming from, mining, did I get that right ?

Miners get 5% of the Block Reward and 15% goes to SmartRewards... but miners hold the coins as well so they benefit from both :) Plus it acts as a price stabilisation mechanism, so it's pretty cool!
