The shame of the Mi Mix 2S

This phone is a disappointment. I was really excited to see if this phone would be the first to have a corner notch, which is by far the best way to implement a notch without using the pop-up camera of the Vivo Apex.

I've seen some of the coverage of the phone which was just announced on March 27th and reviewers seem to laud over the "bezel-less" display.

That chin is awful.

It looks so similar to the other Chinese, budget bezel-less phones that it's almost a joke at this point. This design should never have lasted this long with all of the better alternatives that are out there. I understand that this phone has been in the work for some time, but sometimes companies need to bite the bullet and scrap designs that are just not going to work in the current market.

It's my personal opinion that people who are after the bezel-less look will opt for the Samsung Galaxy S9 or iPhone X as those two are the most commercially available options. This phone was hyped up too much to its own detriment. I was considering purchasing this phone if it had the corner notch and a smaller chin, but after the press photos released last week and the final reveal today, I wouldn't even consider buying this phone today, despite all of the internal upgrades.

I'll be waiting for the upcoming LG phones, One Plus 6, and Galaxy Note 9. But I have a feeling I'll be disappointed by those as well. Until then, I'll be sticking to my Galaxy S8.
