Australia has had plain packaging since 2011. It is called plain packaging, but it is hideous. E-cigarettes have the latest media spot light regarding appeal to kids.
It is insanely expensive already.
And not a deterrent. When people are addicted they go without other things like food.
When I worked public mental health, some very chronic vulnerable people had $2 a day to live on after cigarettes.
I don't smoke, but I know that one packet is well in excess of $20au.
Hugely taxed.
I quit 5 years ago after 35 years of smoking ! It was the hardest thing I ever did , and this is why I will never go back !! 👍
