Robert Pershing Wadlow (February 22, 1918 - July 15, 1940) is the tallest man known in medicine history.

Because Alton was born in Illinois, Alton was also known as the giant. He was 2.72 m in height and 220 kg in weight. The tall and steady growth was due to the construction of the "pituitary hypertrophy" (overgrowth of the pituitary gland) and the overgrowth of the hormone, which would explain why it did not stop growing until the time of death.

Robert was born in Alton, Illinois on February 22, 1918, as Addie and Harold Wadlowun as their first children. Growing up as 5 sisters. In 1936, after graduating from the Alton High School, she had to register at Shurtleff College to study law. In 1937, the record of the tallest man of all time broke when he was only 2.6 m tall!

The shoes are still exhibited in various regions of the United States, including the Alton Art and History Museum. The shoes were given to him free of charge for promotions and advertising.
In the last years of his life, his body was no longer able to lift his long neck. He now needed leg supports to walk, and there was little sensation in his feet and legs. On June 27, 1940, only 18 days before his death, the boys, C. C. Charles and Cyril MacBryde, Measured 2.72 m at the University of Washington Medical School in Luis.

At the time of his death, he was one of America's most famous people. His reputation was particularly evident in 1936 when he made the Ringling Brothers Circus. tour, a promotional tour with INTERCO in 1938, and the U.S. he owed it to national celebrations and continued on these tours until his death.

On July 4, 1940, during the National Forest Festival, one of his leg legs hit his foot. Following the bloating at the wound site, the foot infected the infection. Despite the emergency operations and interventions of doctors, Robert died on July 15 at 22 when he was asleep.

Approximately 40,000 people attended the funeral on July 19, 1940. The coffin was half a ton and had to be transported by 12 people. Because Robert's family believed in the sanctity of his funeral, he wanted his funeral to be covered with concrete in order to avoid being stolen or disturbed.
