Snopes is the largest fact checker in the USA, but their bias is so obvious- anyone can see it. In this example, I examine the claim that Aretha Franklin worked for Trump. Spoiler: She did. But Snopes' writer David Emery rates this story as "mixture." There is no logical explanation for this rating. It should be rated "true."
After looking at David Emery's twitter account, his bias becomes clear. He passes off a story about MAGA hats made in China. His own site, Snopes, rates this story as false, but he posted it to his personal twitter, as if it were legitimate news. How can someone so poor at fact checking still hold that job? It's as if Snopes is unconcerned with facts, and is more concerned with pushing a political ideology.
This is part of my series "Fact Check Friday."
