It's that time of year again! My favorite blackberry picking creek is busting out juicy treasure all over the place!
These are the fullest bracts of ripe berries I have ever seen. I picked upwards of a dozen ripe ones per lateral.
I enjoy wading kneedeep into the stream to harvest nodding stems loaded with the fattest blackberries!
I made them into a fruity lava blast of a crumble pie:
I couldn't help but return the following weekend to glean a bunch more berries, and preserved about 10 cups of mouthwatering jam for household use as well as holiday gifts.
Thanks be to the year-round spring which feeds Mountain Home Creek. Your blessings are resplendent! Having places to wildcraft from is integral to my homesteading. These delicious berries will make fine holiday gifts, a labor of love transforming wild foods.
Love,cat
