At the MCG in Melbourne, Australia, on Tuesday, Manchester United defeated Crystal Palace 3-1, turning up their best preseason performance to far.
Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and Jadon Sancho scored as Erik ten Hag's team thrived offensively despite displaying questionable defensive play.

Following a lovely cross from Diego Dalot, Martial, whose United future appeared in jeopardy after being loaned to Sevilla last season, scored the game's opening goal.
United dominated the first half but didn't score again until after the break, despite Palace having a few half-chances on the break.
Rashford side-footed into an empty net for a fantastic team goal for United after Donny van de Beek, Martial, and Sancho totally dismantled the Palace defence.
Ten minutes later, Sancho scored three goals after Martial set him up by putting him through on goal. The English winger finished coolly after fooling the goalie.
Joel Ward scored a consolation goal for Patrick Vieira's team after teams switched out the majority of the players on the pitch. Late in the game, United defender Will Fish was dismissed from the game.
Anthony Martial, is he back?
Last season, after being loaned to Sevilla and struggling to make an impact, Martial's United career appeared to be all but finished.
However, under Ten Hag, the gifted French forward seems to have a fresh lease on life because the attacking style of play seems to suit him.
Martial, 26, has scored in each of United's three preseason games, excelling in an attack that receives a lot of help from full-backs and central midfielders.
With Cristiano Ronaldo still a possibility at United despite rumours of a transfer, it will be intriguing to see where Martial fits in.
Ten Hag delivered a message from Luke Shaw.
It was intriguing to see new addition Tyrell Malacia chosen at left-back given that Ten Hag chose what seemed to be his strongest XI from the guys that were available.
The 22-year-old Dutchman excelled once more at the position, showing both offensive and defensive prowess.
Malacia demonstrated his talent by making a superb pass to teammate full-back Dalot to assist in assisting the opening goal.
Luke Shaw and Alex Telles will also be vying for the left-back spot for United, so it will be a competitive race.

Goal! 48th minute! Fantastic goal by United. The Red Devils thrash Palace handily. On the break, Martial takes up the ball and passes it to Van van Beek, who beats Sancho to the ball. Sancho passes it back to Van de Beek rather than shooting, and when Rashford squares for him, it is an easy tap in. The most gorgeous football ever.
48th minute: Van de Beek had few opportunities for United previous season and performed poorly. will perform better under Ten Hag, a fellow countryman and his former Ajax manager.
Crystal Palace has not changed since the beginning of the second half.
46th minute: Man Utd makes one change. To replace Scott McTominay in midfield, Donny van de Beek is given a chance.

The Red Devils turned in an all-around outstanding attacking performance. Sancho, Rashford, and Fernandes all exhibit threat, and Martial scores once more in preseason. However, the ease with which Palace generated a few chances will worry them.

45th minute: McTominay receives the ball from Palace in a risky situation. Martial flicks the ball to Sancho, who then attempts to cross the ball rather than shoot, missing the opportunity.
After Palace cleared another corner, Fred fires a shot over the crossbar in the 44th minute.
Maguire nearly scored with his feet in the 41st minute. That's a strange statement. Martial passed a low ball to the United captain after a corner was cleared. The captain turned and fired a shot that missed the post and struck the back of the goal.
Rashford lofts a beautiful pass into the danger area between the goalkeeper and defenders in the 38th minute. As Martial approached the back post, Matthews paused and touched the ball. United heading toward a second.
In the 36th minute, Mateta has Lindelof one-on-one heading down the left channel, but the Swiss defender makes it out of the situation in time for Maguire to cross and help put an end to the threat.
United threaten once more in the 35th minute. Sancho is let through, and when he drags the ball back to Dalot, the full-back is unable to control it. A significant aspect of United's preseason performance has been both full-bucks bombing forward.
Martial is getting attention for his face in the 32nd minute after taking a blow. He will be alright. The French forward has had a strong start to the preseason. Last season, it appeared as though his United career was gone. He could possibly have a future at Old Trafford.
28th minute: Despite having little possession, Palace has been managed to create a few chances that will disappoint United. The Red Devils' defence appears weak.
In the 27th minute, Rak-Sakyi terrorises Lindelof in the penalty area by turning him inside out, but Maguire crosses the line to make an essential save as the Palace forward fired a shot at goal.
26th minute: Solid performance for a friendly game. Both teams are attempting to strike quickly. United appear to be very risky. Palace tries to pose a danger while they are on the move.
21st minute: After falling behind 1-0, Palace has several successful offensive phases. Ebiowei enters from the right, outruns two defenders, but De Gea parries his close-range shot. A header from the ensuing corner is narrowly missed.
