Modern web browsers are the primary medium through which we access the internet. However, the internal technical code and external user interface has not changed for decades, while user purposes have. Once primarily for work, web browsers have to handle more data-intensive activities such as streaming, watching Youtube videos, and loading multimedia pages. On top of that, many users have open a myriad of tabs at anytime. Today’s browser struggles to handle our endless consumption for Internet content, slowing down our device’s CPU and making it hard to navigate between tabs.

Harry Qi, Omid Rooholfada and Ethan Yu started Motion to get the web browser moving again. Motion is a Chrome extension that helps you be more productive as you work. The San Francisco-based startup was a part of Y Combinator’s accelerator program.
