This came in a final statement of the work of the "Forum of Arab Media Leaders" in its sixth session, which is part of the initiatives of the "Arab Media Forum" in the State of Kuwait, in cooperation with the information and communication sector of the Arab League.
According to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the forum recommended the use of various media to publish their news on "Social Media"; in order to "interact with social networking sites to protect them from falling prey to false and misleading news."
"The purpose of using the media for social media is to show the truth and distinguish misleading news and hostile campaigns," he said. To spread awareness and protect the stability and national security of Arab countries.
The forum also stressed the need to develop a media code of ethics "so that countries commit to apply its literature on private media," pointing out that in case of abuses, the state concerned is responsible to the Arab League, and take action against the media outlet, in order to ensure that it will not be repeated in the future.
On the other hand, the Forum called for the establishment of an entity belonging to the League of Arab States to evaluate the media performance "in terms of its commitment to the code of ethics of media channels, with the detection of any lie or falsification of the facts, or trying to cause confusion and spread sedition and division among Arab peoples, and intervene in the affairs of internal states."
In this context, he pointed to the imposition of moral and moral sanctions, "starting from drawing attention and warning to the declaration and calling for a boycott of the condemned channel; for lack of credibility and lying and fraud on the Arab citizen."

The media leaders pointed out that addressing social media through “Social Media” is “becoming the language of the times and cannot be abolished”.
He urged leaders to reconsider the so-called "traditional media" as "sober and professional" media, which makes them classified as less than social media.
They also urged to work with Arab ministers to "restore the prestige" of the Arab media "through their moral support in the first place and their preference over social media, and the enactment of laws to combat false news, pictures and fabricated films and dealing with the forger criminally."
On the other hand, the Forum urged to issue a statement to address Arab governments, not to allow their official and private media institutions to exploit their platforms to offend any Arab country, or destroy its economy and distort symbols, and adhere to professional standards and codes of honor.
