After Lia Thomas's victories against the women swimmers, the reactions have been split.
What I've found most interesting though is that the reactions among my female friends haven't only been split; but, about half of the women I follow who are supportive of Thomas have said that it's only been men who are criticizing the decision to let Thomas compete as a woman.
I know for a fact that that isn't true. I follow dozens of women who have criticized the NCAA's decision; so, this is an indication that anybody who is making the aforementioned claim either accidentally or intentionally created an echo chamber for themselves.
That's the thing about social media. It can be a tool that one uses to expose him or herself to new and challenging ideas just as easily as it can be used as a tool for intellectual isolation.
