When did Socialism become hip?

I don't have one but without knowing exactly what it is, it's hard to say whether or not it's hip and, if so, whether that is good or bad. But if Sweden and Stalinism are both called Socialism, the term is too broadly defined.

Your comment brings up an interesting point. In the traditional Marxist sense, it is an ugly thing. But perhaps it has been hijacked to fit "nicer" views in order to steer people towards it?

"Stalinism" is state capitalist and no socialist has ever wanted that. Its called socialist because of his massive propaganda campaigns
