I can't fault the news media for reporting this; but, if you understand this at the most basic level, and think that this is a credible indictment of the movie, you're a fucking liar.
No crowd source that raises $5 million digs into the views and activities of every contributer. It's neither practical nor possible. It also doesn't make complete logical sense to give money back to an alleged monster when he willfully gave you the money to promote a noble cause.
Maybe take the money away from child predators and put it into the hands of people who are against adults abusing kids.
