Under the UN supervision, 210 children from South Sudan were liberated from the African nation. Many of the conflicting parties in the country hand weapons to the children for war. News Africa News reported that the 'United Nations Children's Fund' (UNICEF) has been continuously trying to free the child fighters. The number of children saved in this year with the latest 210 people stood at 806.

Just two years after independence, civil war broke out in South Sudan Starting from 2013, the civil war started by the loyal forces of President Salva Kier and former vice president Reik Makar. Then many factions were formed in the rebels. Thousands of people have lost their lives in civil war, severe food crisis in the country is going on. The government and the opposition met in Addis Ababa in Ethiopian capital Ethiopia in December to implement the agreement made in 2015.
