South African news :: Day three loadshedding reflection hoursteemCreated with Sketch.

Once again sitting in the dark, I came to realise one trait of a South Africa that makes me proud to be one! Its most probably one of the only traits that blur the lines between race and cultural differences.

We as South Africans are a bunch of resilient beings.. in the darkest times (excuse the pun) we take it on the chest and make the best of a shituation (its meant to be spelled that way, it is my take on shit + situation)

Just look at our timeline:

  1. Apartheid - we rose up! Stood together and ripped apartheid a new asshole.
  2. Running out of potable water - not even so long ago! Patiently queued to get our water from the reserves
  3. Power outages - here i am.. making the best of it..

One thing is for certain though.. if you keep poking the bear.. dont be surprised when it bites back!

I started noticing how people are becoming more vocal about their circumstances and eventually someone will end up throwing a chair.

Yes.. people might say this all began after the government change.. but its not.. I was a child no older than 10 when I experienced load shedding.. so nothing new!

The difference now is that I’m a grown man that can throw a punch if needed to!

Feel free to ask questions or follow for more bite size updates of South Africa..
