The Mechanics of Salvation: Getting under the Hood!

Good day and greetings my Steemit brethren and also those who are yet to believe, I know it has been awhile but I have been fairly occupied with a few projects. One of which was building my brother's desktop which I finally finished thankfully. He is also a believer. Maybe, he will start mining and use it to buy STEEM! But I digress.

Now, what I wanted to talk about today is a bit conjectural but nevertheless feel it to be worthy of consideration. It is the mechanics of the gospel and how God converts a lowly sinner. I think it may be beneficial to consider the natural aspects towards someone arriving at a biblical understanding of the gospel in addition to the supernatural. What may we infer from an examination of the Scripture?

That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. 2 Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore. 3 Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. 9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.”

This parable describes the seed, the gospel, being planted but also goes on to describe starkly different circumstances.

First off, that gospel consists of information, data or facts. Certain ideas such as the virgin birth, salvation by grace, hypostatic union and the triune nature of the Godhead. These are necessary set of facts that must be believed. Sometimes, there may be thorns or rocks that get in the way obscuring the truth. Sometimes, the best way to see this is to simply ask questions. I suspect the thorns may possibly be self-righteousness and the rocks could be any number of ideas that are mutually exclusive to the gospel.

How do we deal with the rocks once they are made apparent? This may mean thoroughly debunking or rebutting the contrary idea so one must be knowledgeable about it in order to be successful. Perhaps researching the belief system and being able to demonstrate why it is incompatible with the very particular hope we have in Christ Jesus.

What do we absolutely need to accomplish this? I'll give you a hint. It's living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Yes, you guessed it! The Word of God and lots of practice! This is not to say that there are not some that will not hear it no matter what you do. Sure these exist but just engage with what you know and let the LORD do the rest. To Him be ALL GLORY!

Sometimes, they make it easy like the JW's by coming up to your door but other times you just have to seize the opportunity. I hope we make good of the opportunities we have on this very platform. Please, feel free to start a discussion about apologetics and methodology. If you have loved ones that you pray would believe, remember, ask them the questions. Get to the heart of the issue. Get to know the stumbling blocks and how you may help remove them using the truth.
