Day 1 on Soylent

in soylent •  7 years ago

So far so good. The strong points of Soylent:

  • Excellent taste. Easily the best tasting meal replacement I've ever drank (Nectar variety).
  • Energizing, I felt better than I have in weeks and was flooded with energy.
  • Low glycemic index, while it provides quick energy it also seems to provide long lasting energy at that.
  • Easily digested, no discomfort like with protein powders and many other drinks, and seems to have no dairy.

Is Soylent healthy? I can only answer that after more time but it seems healthier than the run of the mill protein powders. Long term I cannot say it's truly healthy but for a short term use it appears to be at least for my body. This of course could change if tomorrow isn't so good but Soylent gets a good day one review.

I know several people who love it and have read a lot of positive reviews. I just have had no success with soy. Agree with you about whey and milk proteins. They kill me. lol
Guess I'll continue my pea, brown rice, and hemp protein regiments. lol

Gotta watch out for high esterol intake with soylent. Cause, yaknow, soy

i need to buy myself some and try too

I bought another case of Nectar today specifically because it's being discontinued. It has a very uniquely pleasant taste so get it while you can if you want to try it.

Beyond taste, it's good to have liquid meals just in case. You can store it for years for emergencies or traveling. I don't know if it's for sure healthy but for a day or two it might not matter.

I've actually been thinking about picking some up to supplement my diet (or the lack thereof). Let us know how it goes over the long term!
