One of the most popular spots for a stop in Spearfish Canyon is this beautiful waterfall about 6 miles up the road. Created where the hard ancient metamorphic rock has resisted the flow of the water (unlike the much softer thick limestone beds covering most of the hills) the falls are a constant object of beauty all seasons of the year. Wish my vid was nice and steady but I got there by running there from town on a warm day so I was a bit worn out (plus I still had to trot back but at least it was downhill).
