Speed Limits on USA Highways Should Be Abolished

In this video I completely pwn the statist nonsense about speed limits on highways. Modern day speed limits have nothing to do with reality, they are merely in place to raise revenue for the state. I think everyone would be better off if we were allowed to drive as fast as we wanted to on highways within reason.

lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in.
It's all good until you crash, then you got problems, immediately, on the spot.

This problem has its self-solution: a little more time and it will be enough potholes to render speed limits a joke! ;)

Speed limits are about control. Back in the 70's Jimmy Carter, under the pretense of saving gas (natural resources) lowered the speed limit to 55 on the interstate highways. Even though scientific studies showed that lowering the limit to 55 (an arbitrary number) wouldn't have any effect. To enforce his will, Carter threatened to withhold federal highway funds from states that didn't comply...Power is the name of the game!

Yeah reading up on that as someone who was not around back then, it seems like a completely ridiculous argument for a speed limit to me. Yeah it's all about selling us the idea of sacrificing our free will for safety.

Yup...That and mandatory seatbelts! I remember it well, I was working in Newton and there were gas lines, odd and even license plates for gas. It was crazy...There was a gas station by Phillips Drug Store that decided to stay open all night (the first) Gas was about $0.45 a gal...This guy charged $2.45 They shut him down.
