To Delegate, Or Not To Delegate?
This post actually started off as a comment I was going to leave on my good buddy @flipstar's most recent Dtube post, which compared delegating/vote selling, and posting regular content. Go check it out if you haven't yet!
I feel that because of the fact that he took a huge risk by accumulating a lot of SP early on, gives him right to use it how every you want. The question is, how will our investments fair if Steemit loses value or it's initial vision in the future.
Right now I feel like the whole community is suffering from the autonomy that comes with vote selling and buying. Fewer and fewer people seem to be engaged, which results fewer people putting in real effort on this platform.
That being said, as long as we are able to buy and sell votes, I think it's important to use every resource available to grow, especially because so many low quality posts have been flooding the hot and trending pages as of late.
My biggest fear is that this culture of finessing the system, will lead to a perpetual cycle of circle jerking and selfishness that will turn this platform into a pay to play environment, free of any genuine engagement.
What do you all think about our current culture and where our community is heading? Do you agree with my post lunch thoughts, or am I just being a negative Nancy? Let me know in the comments. Until next time, this has been a message from your friendly neighborhood #spiderblogger!
