Owning My Kundalini Awakening

In 2015 I had a dream that I looked out my window and saw a woman turn into a humongous snake. The snake was so humongous that it was several times bigger than the tree. It was accompanied by a dog. The dog was clearly her companion. I have a visceral reaction to snakes. They make me feel something deep and daunting and almost wretched. And yet they exude mystery. And though I was afraid, I kept looking out the window at her, and I didn't run away. I didn't know what the dream meant, but I knew it was important, so I talked to people about it. Everyone said Kundalini. But it was when my Chiropractor mentioned Kundalini that it really meant something to me.

I've had a series of Kundalini happenings and events and dreams and visitations and signs and yet I've never said, "I'm having a Kundalini awakening." I've said I had 'a Kundalini experience,' but I've never owned it. I guess if I'm honest, who am I to have had a Kundalini awakening? Nice girls don't have Kundalini awakenings. The audacity of me to proclaim that I have. I suppose it didn't help that my Kundalini yoga teacher scoffed at people's stories that they came to him with asking if they were undergoing a Kundalini awakening and stated that they were being prideful and they wanted to feel special.

Besides, how could there literally be a dormant spiritual energy at the bases of our spines that awakens like a serpent? Humans are imaginative, and I knew that there must be a less mythical-like explanation for what I was going through. But over and over the snake comes to me, and I relate to this path.

And I'm going to help others with theirs.

This morning I decided that today I would own my Kundalini awakening. That I would refer to it as such and not beat around the bush. I was inspired to go to a certain place, and when I saw this, I knew why.

Death isn't the end; it's re-emergence. When we die, we re-emerge into the fullness of who we are. We stop forgetting. It's the end of the story. I have a lot of stories ending right now. It's time for me to step into something much greater. The Kundalini awakening is so difficult and terrifying because spirit cannot live in a story of lack and smallness and fear. If you believe those things and a lot of energy awakens in you, you're gonna have a bad time. So you gotta get your shit together real fast. Kundalini destroys what you're not. In fact, it absolutely decimates it. Let go, or die basically.

Is Kundalini energy dangerous? It can be if you have a whole lot of fear and resistance and you won't let go. That's the truth, and I said it.
