Is our life our life?

in spirituality •  7 years ago

Life is one of the most fascinating and engaging concepts that has tickled our minds since the beginning of mankind. Fear of death is one of the basic, underlying concerns that we all have. Various philosophies, religions, and sciences have tried to explain and “solve” these issues.

It seems to me that we tend to think more about life and death at later stages of our lives. When we are young, we think that we will never get old. When we are healthy, we feel that we will never get sick. We tend not to think much in advance – it's in our nature, I guess. Inevitably though, we all begin to wonder.

I consider religion to be a good phenomenon since all major religions basically encourage people to behave in a decent way (except when some scripts are understood in a too literal, zealot way, resulting in violence and/or individual freedom constraints). Nonetheless, I have never been a religious person; that approach doesn’t work for me because I find it hard to “choose” to believe in something that obviously confronts basic logic. No Heaven / Jannah / Valhalla for me.

I wanted to share with you a “solution” that works well for me. I like to think that our individual lives are just parts of a much bigger life – evolution. We are distant relatives to all forms of life on our planet, including monkeys, wolves, whales, orcas, dolphins, minnows, flowers, and trees. The life as a whole, as the evolution, as the ecosystem whose part we are, continues long before and after our individual “death”. Thus, we are a little bit of everyone, human, animal, and plant alike, and we all contribute to and enjoy a bit of the ongoing, uniform life.

I find this attitude both logical and stress-relieving, since it reminds us that we, both as the individuals and as the human race, are not a center or some crucial figure of the universe, making it easier for us to focus on feeling happiness about our existence for as long as it lasts.

I liked reading about your perspective. I personally believe that life is a bit bigger. I can believe that we are all connected through energy, but beyond that I think we are individual. Perhaps the closest connect would be decomposition. When we die and become earth and then provide plants with nutrients and then something eats the plant

Thanks for reminding me about connection through energy, that's a topic I will try to read more about.

Yes, we are undeniably individuals. I believe that observing our individuality from the evolutionary and ecosystem points of view can help us realize that we, and our individual lives, are not so important in the big picture, thus reducing our fear of death, public performance anxiety and similar issues. : )

This is so nice, true, and relieving perspective, and I believe the same. We are all part of the nature, and nature is the highest thing, or the big picture.

I wish you a long life, you smart human and ex minnow! :D

Thank you for making me smile and sharing positivity, @katarinamiliv! 😊

Interesting read. I believe we are all connect to the collective consciousness. We are all part of something bigger in this life and when we die we will come back and do it again, if you have not leaned all the lessons you need to this time round. Maybe once done we will transcend this part of time and space to the next dimension or real where we will continue to learn.

Thank you for the comment, you have some interesting thoughts. : )

Plenty of time to think about these things :)

We are all One because we are all made from the same Light. Our Soul is pure Light and eternal. As this One Light we create infinite expression of the One Light we are with no ultimate consequences. We are experiencing the temporary dream of duality within the perpetual dream of Oneness. Within this One and only Truth of Oneness each Soul has its very own sense of Love depending on each Soul's unique Light mixture.:)

Nice and artistic thoughts about energetic life interconnection. Thank you for the comment, @alexaventuria! : )

:) my pleasure!

I find ur concept interesting but ur logic illogical.
there is more to life than what life shows us.
Like someone I know will say "the collateral beauty"

Bendiciones
