You're more than your label

in spirituality •  6 years ago

When you were a child you had no identity, hence your blissful state, but then your parents told you you were male or female, Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Hindu or Muslim, good or bad, obedient or rebellious, worthy or unworthy and so on.

School came along and taught you you were smart or dumb and then society came in and told you your place within the hierarchy.

And now that precious little child you once were is stuffed properly into a box.

But here is the thing, you are not what they told you. Deep down you are still that pure innocent child who is observing the world but not of the world. This is your natural state. A state of presence. I like to call it the Temple Zone as it is a sacred experience.

You are a holy vessel, so rise above the labels you were tasked with and go back to your child-like nature. It is there in that state you will find peace and happiness. Observe everything without casting your stones. Have fun. Be curious. But most of all, quit worrying. All is well, right here, right now. Trust without even knowing you are trusting. This is what Jesus meant when he said to be like a child.

And if you have the gift of children in your life, observe them, let them teach you how to BE again. They are the true spiritual teachers of the world.
