This is another interesting one that doesn't show up that much. I would say that having a monster with the redemption ability generally is a good idea if it's killed early on as thet instantly does 1 damage to all monsters removing all the divine shields. Blast also is quite useful and what you want to avoid is to have high cost big attack monsters get a hit in and just remove the Divine Shield. One things I'm not exactly sure about is when monsters ressurect that they het the divine shield again but I assume they do since the monsters already have the ability on the screen when picking your team. In this case the ressurect ability also is quite powerful since it forces your opponent to get in more hits without damage just to remove extra divine shields from ressurected monsters. It's one of those fun rules that actually adds to the gameplay and I always like to see it come up even though it looks to be rather rare.
With game rules where all monsters aside from the divine shield also get the Thorns ability, I opted for a Magic-centered deck choosing the Obsidian Summoner. Anticipating that my opponent also was going to be heavy on Magic, I played the Failed Summoner as my main tank. I still need to upgrade my Queen Mycelia on my alt account to Level 2 to also give it the Amplify ability which will be useful. That card is a must in any Obsidian deck just for the armor and I played it in 2nd last place. I played the Centauri Mage in 2nd place which would also benefit from the Amplify Ability in order to counter Ranged damage. The Regal Peryton with high speed and good damage output also is a must to play. So is the Goblin Psychic which biggest weaknesses are the low speed are limited health. In last place, I played the Swamp Thing as the reduced health tends to work well with magic damage.
The battke was actually a close one agains the Legendary Rathe summoner but I did manage to win it in the end mostly because my opponent has too limited damage output while I had some heal. One of the weaknesses of Life also tends to be speed allowing my Regal Peryton to be missed a couple of times.
