Splinterlands over the weekend announced changes to Ranked play. These changes will majorly overhaul the ranked reward experience, and are to be implemented next season.
Changes to Ranked Rewards
Splinterlands currently has three main methods of earning rewards:
Winning Ranked matches above Bronze II. Winning matches will reward the player with DEC depending on a few factors.
Completing a daily quest. Rewards can range from a single pack, card, credits, potions, or DEC. Rewards depend on ranking and cards used.
Season rewards - Rewards can range from a single pack, card, credits, potions, or DEC. Amount of rewards depend on ranking.
This rewards system has been in place since they were initially introduced. The new rework being introduced next season, starting May 31, will include:
Reworked season & daily rewards and DEC rewards.
Using gold foil cards and older edition cards will increase rewards.
Win-streaks and guild bonuses will also increase rewards.
Starter cards (cards marked with an S in the top-right corner of the card viewable from your card collection) will now reduce and can completely remove rewards.
Each starter card will reduce the possible rewards from a ranked win.
Using a hand composed fully of starter cards will yield no reward.
This includes starter heroes.
Daily quests change to Daily Focus
It is now possible to earn a maximum of 30 rewards per day from daily focus.
Progress towards daily focus is earned through winning matches based on the requirements of the focus.
Season rewards will be reworked and behave similarly to the Daily Focus system
Each win will contribute to the re-worked system.
Playing more valuable cards will progress you faster.
