Breathing New Life Into the Splinterlands

There are two new things going on in the Splinterlands that have made me interested in playing once again. I have continued to do my daily quests, but honestly it was more an exercise in getting reward cards than enjoying the game.

The first is the rule change that allows you to get to sets of restrictions per match, as seen below.

In this particular example of, only rares and commons can be used, and you get no benefit from your summoners. This really restricted my options for cards, especially because I was working on a red Quest. This one did not end well for me, but it's interesting to have to think about my team again. The only bad part is that it's only available at gold or above. Using level four and five summoners, it's always a struggle to stay in gold especially at the beginning of the season, as the higher-level players haven't yet advanced up to diamond. But even losing, the game is more fun because of this rule change.

The second thing is the guilds. We are just getting started, but SSG has a guild going. we aren't currently realizing any benefit from being in the guild, as we have to win some daily quest to get some scrolls to level up our Quest Lodge, to get a DEC bonus and a discount on items in the store. It's a marathon not a sprint. but even with no tangible benefit, it's nice to be in a group of people all working toward the same goal and contributing.

I Like Steemmonsters. I am not going to Join a Guild Right away since I am trying to get other things done. I am sure somewhere down the line I will consider a guild just not right now................
