First @splinterlands Investing + Gameplay Update for 2024 | Splinter Stats Season 38 Report

Happy New Year! This is my first @splinterlands article in 2024. We are in a better year where we expand our wings and try to move the world towards a more decentralized and free (as in freedom) world. There will be many centralized parties and there will be PsyOps at every corner in the social and political life. Nothing is going to turn better magically. What we will have in 2024 is more wealth to fight back. We can get better funding for the projects that help individuals preserve their privacy. We can get more users into Big Tech alternatives (some of them built on HIVE).

I have been constantly repeating that games and microblogging are the gateway to bringing in masses into cryptosphere. Microblogging is simple and engaging enough for anyone to try out and become a content creator. @threespeak is making some very needed advancements for video content and eventually we should have a stream of short form video around HIVE. I am not very much a fan of short form content. I still see the utility and I understand that there is a large demand for short form (written, video and audio). It would be quite interesting if we could build an audio equivalent of TikTok and make it popular.

A great many changes happened during the last few months of 2023. We are now greeted to a different home page that has Rebellion at its center. A minimum of 25,000 Booster Packs are taken out of circulation every single day. Even the Battles look different and I personally prefer the old way. It would be good to see @splinterlands allow different looks in the UI for Mavericks or those who are meeting a specific set of criteria. Even paying a small fee for developers to activate a different UI could be an idea worth trying out IMHO.

Ending 2023 in Diamond II League

I managed to make it to Diamond III in the middle of the current Season. Making it back into Diamond II has proven to be a very difficult one it is even possible for me to fail at that task. At the very least I am comfortable in my ability to make it to Diamond League for the many months to come. Acquiring more Gladiator Cards could be a very realistic way to achieve this.

I have Leveled up many of the Regular Foil Cards close to Max Level and I already have a Gold Foil Terraceous Hulk at Level 4. There are only 2657 of these Cards. @kiokizz has a wonderful website where you can easily track these statistics. It has helped me to make some very good investment decisions in the past.

I used to make more than what is necessary to cover my frugal expenses through Card Rentals alone. Such a time may arrive as @spliinterlands grow and expand its userbase. I'm having a better time using my Cards in Praetoria. Although I have not calculated the exact numbers, I could be making more Rewards through focusing on Land. The goal I have is to be sustainable with Grain in Praetoria. In most of the Regions I am farming more Grain than what I consume. I have used many of the Cards I was Renting have a good number of Production Points in each Plot. I believe SPS could be a $5 Token. Mining SPS at this point is a very smart move IMO.

Grain Transfer is Extremely Useful

I used to be stuck having to purchase Grain with DEC. Ability to transfer excess Grain to Region where there is a deficit is one of the best quality of life improvements in Land 1.6

There is a very large 12.5% fee for transferring Grain that is supposed to simulate a real economy. Eventually it will be possible to transfer this Grain out of Praetoria and trade it like DEC or SPS. I understand the difficulty of not having enough Grain for your Workers. I am willing to sell small amounts of Grain for those who are looking for a P2P trade. Prices can be negotiated. Comment below the article if you are interested.

There are many upgrades planned for Land 2.0 and it is best to collected Research Points to get ready for the new Buildings and eventual creation of Items and Spells. There will be a complex and lively economy with dozens of assets on top of DEC, SPS , Grain, Time Crystals and VOUCHERs. It will take some time before rest of the cryptosphere start noticing @splinterlands again. The sale of Spellbook purchases has been slow.

Statistics for Previous 6 Months

The statistics are taken from @peakmonsters which is one of the best places to find insights about what is going on with @splinterlands and its assets. Splintercards is another great tool worthy of a bookmark.

Keep in mind that cryptosphere is supposed to be P2P and decentralized. We may enjoy some price appreciation with ETFs and other TradFi inflows. Do not let that forget the fact that we are the better replacement for traditional finance and we should not be celebrating them embracing us. Remember that we are here to build a better world with more freedom; not to cash out and join the old order!
