Today I wanted to talk to you about something that really matters to me in life: running. And with the return of good weather, I can not think of a better time to start (or recover) than now! I present you the four reasons that make me want to put on my sneakers, and I hope they will motivate you too!

1 It makes you feel so good!

When you run, your body develops two types of hormones: endorphins and dopamine. Endorphins are powerful painkillers that, by bringing you a source of pleasure, will push you in the pursuit of intensive efforts. These hormones can also reduce blues! Endorphins are produced in larger quantities by cardio sports: practiced for 30 minutes in a rhythm neither too easy nor too hard, these sports can bring you a very high rate of endorphins!

Dopamine is the hormone of pleasure and attention. Thanks to this hormone, we feel less tired and more productive. It is also secreted when we consume alcohol, drugs or during sexual activity. Dopamine has excellent and very beneficial consequences for our whole body. Dopamine and endorphins can really make us addicted to running! As you resume your breath after a jog, you begin to feel a very pleasant feeling of well-being quickly.

And personally, when I'm running and I'm angry, sad, ... I can run for hours without feeling anything. When you have to make a decision, it can be interesting to go running because it prevents you from reacting hot. And when you come home after this type of jog, you feel really great relax!

2 This allows you to listen to your favorite songs

It may sound strange but for me, music is the most important thing when I go running. Without this, after the first signs of fatigue, I focus only on what is wrong and I have a lot of trouble keeping running. But when I listen to music and I feel a little slack, I just put a song more rhythmic and generally, it's the job!

And for example, if you just bought the last album of your favorite band, this is the perfect time to discover it, because it will make you focus on something other than just running. I know a pretty cool application that was super useful to me before, but which, I believe, still exists today: Run Hundred. You just have to indicate the rhythm and tempo you are running (slower, faster, ...) and this application will offer you all the songs that are in this tempo. You can also make fun discoveries using this app!

3 This allows you to regain your fitness

Soon enough, you will find a good physical shape and the stairs that seemed so hard to mount last month will quickly seem much simpler. I think it's because running is not just a physical exercise, it's also a very good cardio preparation. The heartbeat is faster than usual for a longer or shorter time and it's great for your heart, if you're well prepared. People who run even just an hour a week can reduce their risk of heart disease by almost half, compared to people who do not run. Soon enough, you will find yourself less tired and much more productive.

Running can also bring greater self-confidence. Firstly, with hormones, but also because you will feel much more resistant to stress, better in your body, and in general you will feel more motivated! What benefits, so!

4 You can run anywhere

With running you are not at all limited to a room, you can really explore all the places in the world. I personally prefer running in natural places, but it can also be a good idea to discover a new city at the same time! Another good idea: if you go on vacation in a place you do not know yet, do not hesitate to embark your sneakers in your suitcase: it is always interesting to try to run on other terrains and uneven. For example, I took advantage of my last vacation in Tenerife to wake up every morning a little earlier than my friends to go running on the beach. It was really great to run on the beach (I felt like in a movie) and to see the life of the city slowly begin ...

And to keep your motivation during the weeks that pass, it's easier if you change places regularly, to continue to discover new trails, etc.
