My favourite wrestler as a kid growing up without a doubt was the Hulkster!

I, like I think many other kids, actually believed wrestling was real. Now I know it's an extremely tough athletic sport but I was totally sucked in by all the storylines as well!

The characters in what was called the WWF back then were simply legendary. Hulk Hogan who you can see looking back now has got a very limited set of moves to say the least but it was in an era where that was good enough to entertain back then. And man he was a great showman with all his Hulking up, poses and hand to ear beckoning at the crowd, and ripping his shirt!

The bright red and yellow costume, the build, the tash, the bald head with blonde hair he was a perfect iconic wrestler for that era!

And 'Real American' as his entrance music just got you so pumped as a kid! Here's a little reminder!

It's nice looking back at those days, good times growing up! It made me want to be a wrestler until I was about 14 then I kind of thought maybe not.

Anyway let me know in the comments if you had a favourite wrestler as a kid or now and who it was.

I worked at a Howard Johnsons in the late 80's and once in a while a group of WWF wrestlers would spend the night before a match in Toronto. I remember checking them into the hotel. Nice guys! Andrea The Giant's hands were bigger than my head! Sometimes we had to replace broken beds after they left. LOL

Wow that's brilliant that you were able to meet these guys in the flesh! There were so many legendary characters late 80's and early nineties must have been really special! Thanks for sharing!

my best memories ever. With MachoMan and Ultimate warrior.

Yeh loved them as well, it was an amazing time to be watching wrestling!

Sting is the best for me, but the hulk is a legend
Check this veteran match :)

Brilliant! Flair is another absolute legend wooooooo!!!

I watched documentary "Nobody Speak", where he sued media Gawker and received $115 million in compensatory damages. You do not mess whit Hulk Hogan :).

Yeh I've noticed that documentary and mean to get round to seeing it. I'm sure there's a lot of people with things to say about Hogan back then!
