My name is Arnette Jordan and I am very new to Steemit. A friend recommended me to take a look at Steemit and once i logged on i was in pure amazement. Being able to connect with a crowd that i would have never been able to connect with really created interest for me.
I am a teacher by trade (6-grade PE/Health),but coaching basketball and helping student athletes get to college is my craft. In my time as a coach i have coached in HS, College (Oakland Univ. and Kent State Univ), and AAU for the famous NIke sponsored AAU team "The Family" out of MIchigan.
I am currently working as a scout for PrepSpotlight Magazine and trying to help student athletes everywhere get athletic scholarships to pay for their degree. As i search on Steemit i dont see tags that resemble what i want to do on here so i guess i will be the first. :-)
I want to advise people on the correct way to obtain college scouts to look at you, also as a parent things you should look for in a coach for your child. There are many pitfalls in trying to help your student athlete be the best they can be. Choosing things like coaches and scout to associate with, high schools you choose to enroll your child in and ways social media can and hurt your chances are just some of the issues that i want to blog about to help parents be informed.
