NCCA being sued and Judge says ok to preliminary 75 million settlement.

Former and current NCCA (all divisions) that played up to July 2016 begin to receive notices. These notices outline a proposed settlement in class action lawsuit. Victims allege that the NCAA didn't implement proper concussion safety standards for Student-Athletes. Many players sustained multiple head injuries during play. They allege that non action from NCAA potentially put these players at risk after leaving sport. The research is clear that head injuries can cause severe health issues in later years.

The NCCA denies any wrong doing in this case. However, a Judge ok's 75 million to set up a monitoring program for all future players. It will also help to implement standards for all current and future players. The lawsuit will go on and the NCCA could have to commit millions more.

So if you played collegiate sports during this time frame. You will automatically be named a class member. You should receive a post card in the mail. If you wish to not be listed then you can, "OPT OUT". You would have to submit a written request to have your name removed. The same process can be done to make comments on the case.

This is just the start for the NCAA being held accountable. NCAA in my opinion have committed many abuses against it's student athletes. I suspect many other litigations against this "Business". It's suppose to be non-profit and benefit the student athletes. However, once you begin to peel back the onion you see something totally different. They are a business with gaining profits as the main objective. Priorities are definitely not in order.
