If you haven't been living under a rock since the NFL season ended; you will know that Kirk Cousins is by far the hottest free agent on the market. He is projected to become the highest paid player in NFL history. I've seen projections where he's to make 30 million a season and the big question is. Is he worth it? The simple answer is Hell NO! I'm a Captain Kirk mark myself but I'm not paying him more than Andrew Luck or Jimmy G. I'd like to base it off of stats but for Cousins that’s just unfair. At the beginning of last season Kirk was told he would not have his two top WR options. (that being Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson) those are both 1000 yard receivers. They did bring in Tyrrelle Pryor who had a breakout 2016 campaign but didn’t live up to expectations with Washington. Multiple injuries to Jordan Reed arguably Kirks favorites target, and a second year first round draft pick Josh Doctson failed to make impact. You add all of that with virtually no running back help any QB would be in trouble. Now that's said Kirk Cosuins stat line was 4,093 yards with 27 TD and 13 interceptions and 93.9 passer rating. Yes that is impressive but in comparison to guys he'd be paid more than (any QB in the NFL) The numbers aren't there for me to make him the wealthiest man in NFL history. The Jets are on record from reports saying that they "would be willing to pay whatever it takes)
