Phoenix Suns Win NBA DRAFT LOTTERY 2018

in sports •  7 years ago

The Phoenix Suns hit the lottery today literally when the ping balls bounced the right way and they were handed the Number 1 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. The order for teams selecting is:

2018 NBA DRAFT ORDER

  1. Phoenix Suns

  2. Sacramento Kings

  3. Atlanta Hawks

  4. Memphis Grizzlies

  1. Dallas Mavericks

  2. Orlando Magic

  3. Chicago Bulls

  4. Cleveland Cavaliers (Nets)

  5. New York Knicks

  6. Philadelphia 76ers (via Lakers)

Phoenix decision on who to take at number 1 appears to be a battle in two between 7 foot 1 Arizona big man Deandre Ayton and Slovenian point forward Luca Doncic. The decision becomes very interesting when delving a bit deeper in to the Suns organisation and seeing that the owner is a former Arizona graduate the same school as Ayton and the newly hired coach is Doncics coach on the Slovenian National team. It looks a battle between coach and owner here and we all know who normally wins those battles, either way both players are good fits in this young team. I will look further in to the likely number 1 and top 10 picks in later posts.

Sorry to be picky, but your pick numbers seem to be slightly off mate.

Yeah mate that picture is just a bunch of the teams with numbers in the balls but the draft order is correct.

Yeah, but the numbers beside the draft order go 1 to 4 then start again at 1

Not sure what happened there mate!

Suns might have first pick but it doesn't seem like they have any real plan for the future. Maybe they are happy to just play and have no interest in a ring

Yeah i agree although they are starting to accumulate a lot of young talent!

you'd hope so. they haven't had an even 30 win season in the last 3 years
