As you progress in your riding you may be interested in getting more into wave-riding. While one of the best ways to learn in terms of surfing is just getting out there and going for it, there are certainly a lot of tips you can get from the experts.
One of the best pieces of advice we give here at Blown Kiteboarding is to initiate your movements on the wave with the kite first, then follow with the board. Also, when you are riding a wave, keep the bar sheeted out and the kite a bit higher in the window to allow the momentum of the wave to carry you instead of the pull of the kite.
There are some great wave-riding instructional clinics that are offered all around the world.
Here are a few options that I find to be the highlights.
Reo Stevens in The Marshall Islands
If you are able to make it to the South Pacific to fabled wave paradise of The Marshall Islands then you can get some instruction from one of the best wave-riders in the industry. Dates for the wave-clinics are from late December to early March and run about $4,500 USD/week.
Jalou Langeree and Moona White
The top two female wave riders in the industry are offering a women only wave riding clinic this July. The clinic is 3 days in length and is located in Cabarete Dominican Republic, a premier kitesurfing and nightlife destination.

With destination pro-run clinics in a variety of locations from Brazil, South Africa, and Hawaii. This outfit has coaches that are top in the industry as well, including Mitu Monteiro who is top-ranked for strapless free-style riding. The SSF specialty is long-distance down winding trips with instruction. The skill levels are catered to the riders with trips from beginner to advanced instruction. Trips also vary in the length from 2 - 8 days depending on what you want.
