oooh big surprise! Tyson Fury is out of retirement

When Tyson Fury announced his retirement claiming that it was his wife's wishes that he was going to honor after his last victory, let's just say that I took the Gypsy King's words with a grain of salt. I don't think anyone that gets that kind of money per fight and is a truly unusual fighter is going to just walk away. I thought that while he was saying it that this was a power-play to demand even more money for fights and well, it appears as though that is exactly what is happening.

Since making is in-ring retirement announcement he has been asked about it time and time again and on each of these occasions he always reconfirmed that he is NOT coming back to the sport. In the meantime, I would imagine his agent was working overtime trying to score promoters that were going to make the pot so sweet that Fury couldn't possibly resist.

Here we are just a few months later and the retirement has been reversed. All I can say is that "I'm not surprised motherfuckers!"

For a while there Fury was talking almost exclusively about a fight with Francis Ngannou and both fighters seemed to be very interested in that and why wouldn't they be? It would no doubt be a huge money-maker no matter who wins and who knows? Since they are going to be making up a new sport that isn't boxing and also isn't MMA, they can just "Jake Paul" their way all the way to the bank. However, Ngannou is contractually obligated to not fight outside of the UFC until his contract expires in 2023.

I don't think that many people thought that Fury was really going to stay retired and it was a mere 4 months before his official retirement was officially over. He is now going to set up a trilogy fight with Derek Chisora, a man that he has fought, and beaten twice before.

No doubt tons of people are going to watch and pay to see this fight in bars and homes all around the world. I don't know if I am going to be one of them though. I don't normally go out of my way to watch boxing. You can't argue with the huge amounts of money that are in boxing though - it is staggeringly massive and blows UFC paychecks out of the water despite the fact that MMA is much more popular.

I'll probably sit this one out but I'm just saying that I saw this coming from a long ways away. Very few people who retire on a win stay that way and this is just another example of that.
