Formula E world champion punished for unsportsmaship!

Formula E world champion Jean-Eric Vergne was the sport's first ever double winner over the weekend after successfully defending his crown from last season.

Vergne has been ordered to do community service for a day, because of showing unsportsmanlike behavior at New York in the penultimate race of the season.

New York hosted the double-header which rounded off the season, with one E-Prix on Saturday and another on Sunday.

In the first day, Vergne requested not only once but twice in the team radio to stop Andre Lotterer on the track in order to bring a safety car and allow him to return to the pits and fix his damaged car.

The messages were inappropriate because it was in an open channel, and he was aware that the audience can hear the message and by then the racing officials stepped in to punish Vergne.

In my opinion, I think that Vergne made the right decision right there. Because if he has not made that message in public, there is a chance that they will not notice it right away. Since the car in which Lotterer was using was damaged, it must be fixed right away for his safety before something else happen to him, Vergne was just concern for Lotterer. Well, there might be some that does not agree to my opinion since each people has his/her own point of view. What do you think about Vergne's action? Does he really need to be punished for that?
