It has been reported that David de Gea has agreed to a new contract with Manchester United in which the club has agreed to forego a 25 per cent deduction clause in his new contract.

A new four-year deal at Old Trafford, with the option of an extra year was signed by De Gea

This will put paid to months of speculation over De Gea’s future with the goalkeeper who has been out of contract since the end of the current season.

Earning a basic of £250,000-a-week, the Spaniard will be earning more than his team-mates due to a clause being waived. This includes the likes of Paul Pogba.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ,Manchester United boss has been keen to keep De Gea.

The manager said: “I want David to stay here – he knows that. David’s the best goalkeeper in the world.
We’ve seen that over the years and I hope I can make sure he’ll finish his career at Man United at the highest level.
