Well not exactly true, they won’t be available for 14 days after release. Don’t worry, it’s not ALL Artists, just a whole bunch contracted to Universal Music. Here’s the rub, if you are a paid subscriber to Spotify, you can get all the music.
This may not work as Spotify hopes, they are hoping that more people sign up and they want them/us to subscribe… for around $10 a month, most of which is kept by Spotify and the artist's contracted music label, artists don't really see much of those subscription fees.
Most albums are available on YouTube, legally or not, so many people will simply turn to YouTube if they really must listen ( free bonus, the videos too!) to the newest albums for free for the first 14 days then they will be on Spotify too for all to listen, subscriber and free listeners.
Singles will continue to be available to all Spotify users. So that’s good news I guess.
Is Spotify available in your country yet?
Do you buy your music or just stream it?
