The blues have been in talks with Juventus even before the world cup began in June. the club had wanted the player to put an end to their goal drought that they experienced towards the end of last season.
Higuain had been the ideal replacement especially as he understands new coach Sarri's game very well.
Chelsea though, over the last few days have not spoken with the Italian club. they look to have their eyes elsewhere following the Italian giants' refusal to bring down their asking price.
Juventus wants 60 million pounds for higuain but Chelsea thinks that is too much considering the player's age and the number of productive seasons he still has under his belt.
AC Milan is the only contender left who have had their eyes on Chelsea's Morata and Higuain.
