The Costa Rican has been treated unfairly in my opinion and should get out of the club as soon as he can. Real Madrid now has a tradition of biting the fingers that fed them. Just look at the way Pepe, Iker Casillas and Cristiano Ronaldo left and you will know that the club doesn’t care for their legends no matter the level of sacrifice they put in the past.
Cristiano Ronaldo had simply asked for a wage benefit that reflects his contribution to the club and Fiorentino Perez had turned him down and allowed him to leave the club. Now, it’s visible for all to see that the Portuguese was the one who had been carrying the club on his back all these years.
Keylor Navas has been a top-class goalkeeper for years and has helped the club to three straight Champions league titles. He’s been one of the best goalkeepers in Europe for years. Yet, Perez in his usual ‘I get what I want’ attitude went for Courtois even though Real Madrid didn’t need another goalkeeper.
Navas had endured speculations when the president had tried to get Manchester united to release their goalkeeper, David De Gea even though Navas wasn’t performing poorly. This is Perez’s way of disrespecting those who have served the club gallantly.
Now, with Juventus in the market for a goalkeeping signing, Navas is considering his options and the news even has it that Ronaldo has personally recommended him. One thing though is that the Bianconeri have their eyes set for David De Gea, the Manchester united goalkeeper who has been delaying signing a new contract with the red devils.
