The 2018 world cup has been amazing so far. Like most gigantic competitions, the matches have been really hard to predict.

The first red card of the tournament was given yesterday, and guess who it was that got it – Carlos Sanchez.

Well, no footballer is above being red carded. However, Sanchez’s red card seems uncalled for. To say that Sanchez’s decision cost them the match against Japan may not be so wrong.

In a bid to stop the ball from going into the net, the Columbia midfielder deliberately handled the ball. This lead to him receiving a red card in the third minute of the game.

The former Manchester united player Shinji Kagawa attempted to score a goal when he had a clear chance in the third minute of the game, the ball didn’t get into the net due to the fact that it was handled by the Sanchez. Sanchez was given a red card and the referee pointed to the penalty spot.

The match continued with Columbia having a greater percentage of possession even into the 20-30th minute despite the fact that they were one man down. The match eventually ended with a score of 2 goals to 1 in favor of Japan.
